Eating Habits at Work

Eating Habits at Work

Food. Oh, how I love thee.

My work recently just moved offices, and while I now get to enjoy a desk with a window, I no longer get to enjoy the convenience of food. Our previous location had a cafeteria, a convenience store, was right across the street from the mall (food courts), and was close to many restaurants. This new building has none of that. 😑 We have vending machines that only accept cash. Cash! Who carries cash these days?!

Needless to say, my eating habits at work are about to change drastically. Just today I found myself hungry mid-afternoon, yet I had no snacks and no cash. I actually ate a few cough drops I had in my drawer hoping they’d hold me over for 3 more hours until I got home. Nope. Didn’t work. I ended up scrounging my wallet and desk for coins and found just enough to buy myself a candy bar (I know, great choice Nicole).

If you’re not hungry enough to eat an apple, you’re not hungry; you’re bored.

So now I’m on a mission to compile a list of easy and healthy snacks for work. I’m looking for both fresh and non-perishable ideas. I usually try and bring a piece of fruit and keep almonds in my desk drawer, but I need variety! I need your suggestions!

You Are What You Eat

What are some of your favorite healthy snacks for work? Please! Share them with me! I’m desperate! 😋

By the way, if you haven’t signed up for my monthly newsletter, please do! I just sent out my first campaign last week. 😊

I eat baby carrots, bananas, hard boiled eggs apple sauce, healthy choice soup, (I eat half of the microwave container and save the other half for the next day. ) Sargent cheese sticks, and mini pretzels, just to name a few things! Also I have bought a nut, sunflower seed, raisin and cranberry medley from Kroger before, very satisfying when I was pregnant. And cottage cheese!

Ooo… Apple sauce would be a good one to keep at work since it’s non-perishable.

For the first time since owning my Peloton since S For the first time since owning my Peloton since September 2021, I hit a cycling milestone! 🚴‍♀️ I use my Peloton every day for strength workouts, but never consistently cycled; however, this month I started their #DiscoverYourPowerZones program and it has been a game changer. With this program I was able to clock 150+ miles, earning myself the gold badge in the January cycling challenge. 🥇

I also earned the 1K, the Winter Launch, January Strength, and January Activity challenge.

Hoping to keep the momentum going. I’m in my last week of the Discover Your Power Zones program. There are two additional Power Zones programs I could embark on after as well as a Facebook group. I have yet to decide, but I do know I want to continue power zone training. It’s improved my endurance and challenged me in all the right ways.
